Dirt roads, washboard roads for RV travel?

Just curious what road conditions you all consider acceptable for RV travel.
I have an older Class C and am hesitant to take it down some gravel roads for fear of appliances, cabinets and who knows what else coming apart. On the other hand, I know these things are designed for a certain amount of shake-rattle-and-rolling.
How much is too much?
The roads I'm thinking of are county maintained, gravel roads that the locals fly over at 50+mph - I'm always afraid I'll will bounce right off the road at that speed so even in a car I'm taking it much slower than they do.
Obviously there are people who live down these roads who have RVs. I assume they occasionally leave their driveway, so maybe I'm worrying way too much.

  • County maintained gravel roads are no problem. Just slow and steady no need to do 50MPH watch out for dips and bumps.

We often tow our 38ft 5th wheel on desert roads consisting of hard packed dirt and sand with significant dips and bumps. We basically crawl along until we get to our destination which is usually no more than 1 mile from an asphalt road.
  • We've taken our rig down some pretty rough roads but we do take it slow and easy when doing so. Only you can decide where you are willing take your RV, but I think most rigs can take some rough roads from time to time.
