We put all the dishes, glassware, etc in the cupboards. We stack the plates, and we set the glass ware on anti-skid pads with the opening down. We travel down some really rough dirt roads when we go boondocking and we've never broken a dish. Just be careful when you open the cabinets after a rough ride. Like they say on the airlines, "Some items may have shifted during flight".
