We rarely make reservations enroute although there have been times we had to find another campground as our 1st stop was full. I never make reservations while traveling. If you have a destination place where you want to stay for a week or whatever that's a different story.
But just traveling down the road I've never hit a town I couldn't find a CG to stay at. Most CG's leave a row for the "RV travelers".
I also do not make reservations for the winter in Florida! I have never been without a place to put the levelers down. :C
