Do you find awning useful?
If you were to buy a new RV, would you pay for this option? Or is this just a waste of money?

We use our awning on every trip. Press a button and its out in 15 seconds what could be easier. It I know rain is coming I'll tilt the.awning to the rear for drainage.
We also use an EZ UP canopy to sit down by the lake. The EZ UP are very strong. I had to pull ours out of a tree Saturday morning after the wind blew it across the backyard and 10' up into a tree. Amazingly no damage.
