i realize vegas is a bit of a special case where good deals are concerned, a lot harder to find deals like $20 in NY, Chicago, etc, but where i can find them, it will make a nice break from sleeping in the van.
i love the great outdoors, obviously or i wouldn't be doing it, but i think everyone needs a bit or variety on a trip like this, a couple of weeks in nature and a week or so in town should be a good balance
