Y-Guy - I read that article you posted and found myself thinking that doc fees are completely ridiculous when you look at their definition of doc fees. The dealer is in business to sell stuff. Part of selling that product is the required paper work to satisfy the legal requirements. That time / labor and so on falls inot the "Cost of doing business" on the dealers end, in my opinion.
I know they don't all do it. It thier choice. The dealer I recently bought a vehicle from made it clear, the moment I hit the price topic of the vehicle, that the price is it - out the door - no fees added except what the state requires to make it legal.
