doc fee and out of state fees.

I live in Nevada which has no sales tax on used vehicles.
I'm in the process of purchasing a Used RV from Arizona.
They want to charge me $350.00 for doc fees and $600.00 for out of state fees. What is this all about.....Had anybody been charged these type of fees?
  • Don't but it. Go back with the agreed price of the sale, before the BS fees and tell them final offer, all in. If they dpn't like it, walk away.

    Cheers!

  • OK I gotta step into this one...People have been charged for miscellaneous items for years however the charges, IMO, have become rampant and extremely exorbitent not to mention rediculos yet people will continue to haggle and pay to get what they want so the sellers will continue to upcharge however and whenever they can.
OK enough ranting just let me say that you should questiom these exorbitent fees and try shopping around.
    Good Luck
  • $350 for "document fees"?? that seems pretty steep for spending 15 minutes on paperwork!
$600 for "out of state fees", when all they have to do is hand you the papers and let you get on down the road for home?
Find another unit at another dealer!
When I bought my Dodge 1500, after we agreed on the price the salesman said "There is a $100 doc fee". I said "Let's split it!" we did.
BUT, here, his title clerk earned it. She had to do all the paperwork, then drive clear downtown to the courthouse to deliver the papers to the DMV office!
  • Doc fees are BS out of state fees are worse. Tell them to give you a simple bill of sale and you will take care of registering it in your home state.
  • I've only heard of the Document fees.
Here in Texas we can refuse to pay them.

Never heard of an Out of State fee.
  • Tell them you will purchase the unit if they lower their sales price by $950, then they can include the aforementioned fees. Buyer's market. If you are not happy with the deal, move on. Good luck.
