Don't Buy-in to warranty

Don't buy-in to Keystone's rubber roof warranty. Most sales rep's will tout the keystone 10-12 year rubber roof warranty. I have a four year old fifth wheel that has been sheltered since new. Rubber roof material has recently become unglued for the first 12 feet of the top. Both the closest repair dealer and I have made multiple attempts to get Keystone support or even basic advice. All support and coverage denied. The warranty is actually from the material manufacturer and only covers defects of the rubber, not poor adhesives or poor workmanship. Sorry to say, Keystone has no customer loyalty. I have made the needed repairs, so if I can help someone else with a similar problem, please let me know.

  • Yep, that is standard with all manufacturers and not just in RVs. Read the back of a bundle of house shingles, same thing.

As the roof warranty states it covers a defect in the material for 12 years, but not the installation. The warranty is from the roof membrane maker who has no control over how it was installed. Keystone's liability for the workmanship (installation) is only one year.
  • The warranty is for the rubber material only - that's where they get us with the marketing BS.
When they do a lousy job of installing it nobody will do anything.
