The best way to buy is to buy something 35 years or older and spend some money bringing it back to full operational mode. Every other way of buying is wrong.
As for outdoors/indoors, you should enjoy both. There's nothing wrong with sitting inside your RV relaxing versus sitting outside relaxing. There's nothing wrong with cooking outside vs. cooking inside.
By the way, I CAMP in bear country all the time and, scary, I cook inside for the most part.
