Dumb question concerning on board water tank

With a funnel...carefully...through the filling port. There's some slick funnels in the auto parts section of Wally-K-mart-Target with a LONG tube on the bottom...works great!

(This assumes there's a filling port- I know some folks have automatic things that branch off of the "city water hookup", my camper is not that fancy).

I guess if it's never been used, you might check to see if any bugs or gunk runs out of the tank- and if so, might quadruple bleach and rinse multiple times sorts of things.

Also, if it's never been used, I might be slightly afraid if the water pump will work.

All that being said, I would not worry too much...just check it and see.
