- GrandpereExplorerExtended warranties are great for the seller, but a waste of money for the buyer. Take the money, put it in a savings account, and be your own warranty provider. You will be money ahead and not have to listen to "No. that is not a covered repair because of reason X" Or you can tell yourself that and pay for it out of another account LOL.

I average 14 years on my automobiles before getting rid of them.
Manufacturers extended warranty? After market warranty? Good SAM warranty?
