I routinely use a garden hose to fill the fresh water tank. I'm on a well, so no funky chemicals sit in it. And I do drink out of the fresh water tank -- it's sanitized in the spring and it's the same water I'm drinking at home.
(I do segregate the hose I use for dumping. That is never used for anything else.)
