They want to have the resources to come out ok with anything life throws at them. Honestly, I think it is smart. Yes, you need to enjoy the fruits of your labor, but frankly, I don't blame them.

I think there is a book called "the millionaire next door". The millionaires aren't the ones you think they are. The millionaires blend in and act like everyone else around them. You can't necessarily pick them out by their stuff.

The people I'm talking about recognize that they could never adopt a life style that would consume their income at the rate it is coming in, let alone but a dent in their equity. They have learned to be content with what they have and just can't seem to bring themselves to "waste" money on something they don't really need...like a $60,000 truck or a new fifth wheel when the old one works just fine. So they love the money more than anything it could buy. I guess what this has to do with financing purchases is just to point out how some love money and can't spend it and then there are some who love stuff yet lack the discipline to save for it. Likely most people who borrow money to purchase stuff they don't need will never have an abundance of wealth. Some, however, find the perfect balance between spending, borrowing and saving....not me.
