Fire ring/bowl??
Do you travel with one? What do you use? Hubby doesn't want propane - only a real wood burning fire.

One of the best outdoor items I've ever bought is a portable firepit/ grill by SnowPeak. Stores easily and well made. Looks are deceptive since it can hold at least 1 supermarket wood bundle. inexpensive but worth every penny IMO. Instead of buying the base plate I use a $1.50 16"*16" quarry tile from a big box store:
