I assume this trailer is pretty small? Remember towing is NOT all about weights. That trailer becomes a giant sail as you attempt to drive down the road.
As for retiring at 50? Go for it! Medical is going to be your biggest cost. Next will be insurance, food, fuel and park fees. Stsrt now, plan to start camp hosting, or volunteering. As a camp host you can get your site and maybe a small payment in exchange for your time. Sure helps to pay the bills. You might if your of a mind look into seasonal jobs like with a state park system.
