At home, I open the backdoor and my dog runs out and plays, chases things, and does her business. I can't do that at a campground as she must be on a leash. Because she needs that run around time every day, the only way to do it is put a leash on her and walk her. The campground, since I am already there, is a convenient location. It's not that I don't have anything better to do; my dog has to go to the bathroom and has to get some exercise. Most days, she goes two or three times. By the third day at a park, the scenery is kind of monotonous, but what can you do?
When walking, I carry a poop bag out in the open, sometimes waving it around to ward off the dirty looks. I make a big production out of scooping my dogs poop so the glaring people who have congregated to watch my dog poop can see that, yes, I scoop my poop.
