Get two batteries. Two Group 27/29 or a pair of GC2 (golf car) is fine.
I would still get the 100 to 140w of solar to recharge at the end of each trip and maintain full charge on the battery while in storage.
If you are anywhere close to Norco consider solarblvd.com as they have good prices on panels and controllers. Phone order and pick up in person to save shipping.
The existing generator will fill in the rest to get you started.
LED lighting will help a lot in saving battery power for the furnace etc.
After a few trips then you can revisit your needs. It is not a huge big deal to get started.
100w panel $125
20a controller $80 20a leaves room for two more panels later on if desired.
SB also has the larger 24v panels and MPPT controllers. Shipping goes up fast on these large panels so best to pick up. Check fitment closely as even a small shadow will cut power significantly. Try to stay 12" to 18" away from the air conditioner etc.
Charge the laptop whenever the generator is running. Otherwise after a few trips you may want to add a small inverter to charge small items.
Simple voltmeter is fine to track battery charge level.
