First Time owner.

MY wife inherited a 1998 Coachmen Santara when her dad passed recently and we've just taken possession of it....it was being held pending payment for some electrical work. We know there are a few problems to take care of, (ordered a shroud for roof Ac unit, need to replace a window molding , etc) It seems to be in pretty good shape though. The electrical system seems to be spot on, I'm delving into the other stuff such as waste system, fridge, & stove.
I'm figuring first just make sure it's watertight and move on from there. There is evidence of an old leak or two, but no major damage and the roof has been resealed.
Sorry if I'm incorrect on any terminology, but we know nothing about RV's and I'm getting a crash course.
Any advice?

  • Eternabond and Dicor Self Leveling Lap Sealant are your best friend when it comes to RV roof maintenance. A small leak can cause a lot of damage if not repaired quickly.

Do a lot of reading on the forum. Use the search block and/or just post questions on the forum. Someone will have the answer.

The 12 Volt Side of Life will help you understand your RV's electrical system.

There is a lot to learn but, it's not difficult. The important thing is, don't hesitate to ask questions. The vast majority of RVers are happy to help someone with their rig.

    Enjoy your RV.
