One tip....always check the electric supply before setting up.
2. Make sure you have clearance for any slide-outs!
3. Personal opinion....if you aren't at the camper, don't leave an awning extended. Retract it before going to bed. It only took one experience in Michigan to find out how fast a wind can come up. By the time my wife and I got outside, it was blowing hard enough that as my wife was holding onto the roller tube, the wind lifted the awning and DW. Luckily, I got the awning retracted without any damage to the awning. Others at the campground were not that lucky. And, if it were to happen with the lighter weight electric awning we have now...the awning would have been destroyed. I know this tip is contradictory to what so many others do....just my humble opinion.
