We've done the same - split time between boondocking or dry camping and RV parks. What we do is leave home with some water in our tank, about half. That will get us through the first dry camping stay or two (because we are conservative), then we refill at the RV park and dump and we start the cycle over again. There are many places to refill fresh water and dump, as noted in the links provide by another person.
