OK, last time I'm saying this, then I will just be reading. The batwing has become useless, doesn't work properly with digital TV and is now obsolete! And yes the antenna needs to be optimized, either one, which means it has to be positioned correctly to get the best reception, which the Batwing doesn't do anymore. By my own real world test the Jack is far superior!
And yes, I checked the connections on my old antenna a couple times previous to replacing it.
