I would do the wood thing if it was my trailer.
I laughed about the neighbor putting the wood away for you after you drive off. :)
Maybe try this,
Pull off the blocks.
Then write a note to your neighbor.
"Bob, I left early this morning. Could you please pick up my wood leveling blocks from the street and put them away for me? Thanks.
Then drop the note in the neighbors mailbox.
Get back in the tow vehicle and get under way.
