I did the math once. For my RV, that is FOR MY RV, I can be up to 10 inches off level either front wheel to back wheel, or 10 inches off level from outside dually to outside dually, and be within the specs. If the rig is comfortable to walk, sit, or lie down in, it is OK.
I agree that the damage is cumulative. If you do it frequently, damage is occurring. It may take a few years to get bad enough to kill the unit, but if you are keeping it years you can definitely kill it.
