I have had MHs since 1986. Prior to that we had TT, popups, and a Hi-Lo since 1969. Each MH has been bigger than the previous one (Until October) and each one has gotten better fuel mileage than the previous one. My '03 Mountain Aire on a Workhorse chassis with 8.1L gets 8-8.5 mpg. I have never gone without a toad so have no knowledge of what it would be without. I just bought a 20 YO class B Roadtrek in October and got 16.5 mpg on my first trip of 1 week. There is a lot to give up in the Class B. I would take 5 camera bags and various cameras in the big MH but now I am limited to 1 bag. The reason for the downsize is my wife of 55 years passed away and I hope I can make it in a little MH with no toad. I haven't sold the other one yet.
