While it's easier to fill up using the auto pumps in front when unhitched, I considered the ability to fill up in the trunk lanes one of the benefits of switching over to a diesel TV. Pulling a 38 foot fiver, it's a whole lot easier to simply pull through the truck lanes when towing than to navigate around the more constricted auto pumps out front. The only drawback I've found is the need to go inside to pay as the truck pumps don't normally take my credit card at the pump. I've yet to run into a situation where a truck driver or service person made me feel unwelcome.
