So we finally got out to do some looking.
We went to a very large consignment lot, where most MH's smelled like a dead animal was buried in them.
Didn't find anything on that trip that was worth our consideration.
We then went to two dealerships, which is sort of like being locked into a burrito and you can't get out. RV sales folks seem to be a pretty interesting breed, and apparently, every MH you look at is selling to someone else tomorrow.
Regardless, we had the chance to do some real looking in and out of everything, 5th, travel, toy, MH, class-c, including some new ones, and at the very least, it helped us develop of list of deal breakers.
Also, the 'sales folk' told us, what appear to me, to be some perrrty tall tales...
So I'll ask you for confirmation. Have you ever seen any finance company take a 15 year on a unit that is currently 7 years old?
And is it true, that on a new unit, finance will take a 20 year loan?
Then one sales dude says if you buy new, the up front depreciation will kill ya. Then another says if you buy used, the used depreciation will kill ya, but the new will hold better value.
I'm thinking 'uhhhhhhh either way, you're upside down and screwed on sale.. period' Like this has got to be one of the fastest depreciating items on the planet.
