One thing to keep in mind, especially with a couple of children on board, is that for many folks RV's tend to "shrink" the longer they stay in them at a stretch. For extended travel, start larger than the minimum you think you'll be comfortable in to allow for that "shrinkage". It will only take few rainy days in a row to show you the wisdom of that decision. As for towing, as long as one you is comfortable driving it, you'll be fine. I do recommend the other partner at least take the time to give it a try and learn the basics though, just in case an emergency should arise.
