We start similarly...then it's all different.
We do get a rough idea of our overall goal and work backwards.
- Daily driving: Shoot for 2-3hr...so 100-150miles. We are not on a 2 week vacation, we don't have to do a full day of driving unless there is an emergency.
- Additionally we rarely move more than 2-3 times in a week and usually mix in a week to a month on a frequent basis.
- We call ahead but rarely make reservations unless it's a holiday or other special event.
- We do layout a plan on an excel sheet...but expect the plan to change. It keeps you pointed in the right direction but don't let it force you to miss great opportunities because you are scheduled to be somewhere else tomorrow.
- Govt parks are nice for a few days here and there but full time, you need cell coverage and access to stores and civilization.
