you have it backwards, most use the blue tote tanks for GRAY water, not black water. mainly because of exactly what your problem is, gray water fills up much, much, much faster than black water.
i've NEVER needed my blue tote for black water and i don't think i'll ever need to. there's just the two of us and our black tank is 25 gallons, so it'd take a long time for us to fill it up.
