I think an important thing is to instruct all in your family..and guests..on how to conserve water.
Short, short showers is a necessity. If they are available at the campground, take them there.
Never let the water run - even for brushing teeth. One 3 oz cup of water is all you should be using - wet the brush in the cup, rinse your mouth, rinse the brush - all from the same 3 oz of water.
Dishes: paper products. Also, take a trip to the thrift store and buy lots of silverware. No need to do dishes daily. Wipe off any dirty dishes with a damp used napkin or paper towel and they won't smell if doing dishes in a day or two. We store ours in the dishpan under the sink until ready to wash. We even reuse our pots/pans - wiped with a damp paper towel. When doing dishes wash in a dispan and dump it into the toilet. Turn water on & off to rinse.
We boondock a lot so we're well versed on conservations.
