How long and cold before line freezing problems?

Can someone help me with the answer to this question? I am concerned about my new Fiver that has not been winterized yet. The situation is this...4 Season Package Montana. It is at my lake lot and I was out of town this past week so couldn’t get to it.

The water is off but lines aren’t drained yet. Hose is still attached. Furnace is off.

This past week we had a couple of nights where the daily lows dipped into the lower 30’s upper 20’s. This week we are expecting highs in mid to upper 60’s. My question is am I already in trouble, or does it take a more sustained low temp before the lines freeze? I know one of the evenings it looked like it was below 32 for around 5 hours.

  • No way of knowing. Upper 20's is marginal and I wouldn't count on the lake to keep it warm.
  • If the unit is located near the water on a lake I suspect you are fine, lakes tend to have a micro climate around them that resist temperatures dropping below freezing as much as they would away from the water, this is particularly true if located on the downwind side of the lake.
