But that's my point: the more you have to spend, the more stuff you'll repair. :) For instance, the water heater on our class C would only work on propane. There are three possible solutions to that problem, fix it yourself, pay someone to fix it, or live with it. First option costs the least because in this case it turned out to be a broken wire. We can both fix things, this is the option we choose most of the time. Second solution would be expensive, it would have taken at least 8 hours labor from a competent RV mechanic, so probably at least $400. And the last solution would have resulted in no out of pocket cost now but higher operating expenses for the duration of use.
Do you understand my point? What I'm saying is budget what you can afford then stretch your dollars wisely.
