I have a 50 to 30 amp adapter and seldom use it as most campgrounds have the 30 amp service and the charge is lower for this than for 50 amp service. I like this as we have modest power demand and don't want to be subsidizing people in large RV's with multiple air conditioners running.
You can plug a 30 amp RV cord into a 50 amp outlet with an adapter and no problems by doing so.
