Long trips and short time = lots of driving if you take the RV.
You can fly and rent an RV but that will be expensive. Also, by the time you figure departing 3hr before the flight, 2hr flying & 2hr to collect bags and pick up the rental...you've already got the equivalent time to 500 miles driving...in the end, your 4 day trip is really a 2 day trip when you remove the travel days.
If you don't need the truck for mon-fri, you could drive part way one trip, put it in storage near an airport and then fly back. The next trip you fly to the truck, drive further and store near the next airport. Takes a little logistics but doable and probably cheaper than renting...plus you know what condition the RV will be in.
Realistically, unless you like long driving days, I would save the long distance trips for when you have more time.
