How to make a quick trip when you don't have time to drive
I work the usual M-F and can take vacation but it's difficult to take more than a few days off at a time. I just purchased a mini truck camper (Capri Camper Cowboy). This is for weekend getaways to fish lakes at state parks, etc.
I don't want to take a short vacation of say five days including the weekend and spend a lot of time driving. I live in Northwest Arkansas and want to visit the Rockies. Southeast Colorado is about a 12 hour drive, so that's too long.
My question - I can fly to Colorado Springs or Pueblo and rent a car but then what? I guess I could just rent a hotel or try to get a cabin and do some hiking and general exploring.
I know I can rent a truck camper in the Denver location of Cruise America, but that starts getting complicated on pickup/drop off times and cost more.
Any advice on how to put together a hassle free get away?
