how to prevent dragging?

I drag backing out of my driveway. I solved this by mounting steel wheels under the frame about 1 foot in from the rear of camper. They swivel and picked them up at Tractor supply. Been using them for 4 years with no trouble.

Obtain and mount some swivel skid wheels with u-bolts on the rear of the TT frame.
Another option would be to have the trailer axles mounted below the springs instead of above them therfore raising the TT frame.

That is how I had mine raised. It no longer drags. that raised it about 5 inches. Before it would drag on any incline.

Cost? 450 to 500 bucks

If it is a local to you station don't go there, at least not with the trailer.

Almost 200,000 miles of travel behind me & I have come across very few, mostly older, stations with potential dragging issues. More often than not those before have left their marks giving a good warning & a chance to proceed or abort using that station.

It is not a big deal really.

Now if I had a driveway that was a problem I'd be putting boards in the gutter before drilling holes & mounting wheels or skids.

They make what hot rodders call "Sissie wheels" that attach to the rear frame (NOT to a tin foil bumper but a solid frame part) with "D" bolts and .. Well they are solid steel rollers. Talk to your dealer.

Get a cardlock gas station card (Pacific Pride, etc). You don't need to be a business, just pass a credit check. They're generally set up for large vehicles, and it's sometimes handy being able to buy gas in bumshart, nebrahoma at 1am.

Keep in mind adding wheels reduces your clearance and puts stress on the corners of the frame.

Best bet is to fill up before hooking up and if you have to fill up in route, use truck stops.

Choose your stations for ease of entry and egress. If you still need to use one with an steep angle approach at an angle instead of nearly straight on.

Not telling us where you are located or whether you are gas or diesel makes it so much easier to try to help you.

In 100,000 miles or so of towing this has happened to us only once (in New England).

Fuel without the trailer (not always possible).

Use truck lanes (mostly diesel).

Avoid stations crowded with cars even if price is more (still cheaper than frame alignment).

Stay situationally aware!

I’m surprised your jacks are unprotected.

Our camper had skids and we drag a lot. They ground through, so put I some wheels back there. We did consider the “axle flip”. Kind of bad that they make things that REGULARLY drag on routine unlevelness.
