The clip on mirrors will work fine. Don't overthink it. Be careful changing lanes where the mirrors may have a blind spot, otherwise let'er rip.
Cameras are nice, however, I'd argue that you don't want extra "distractions" while making your rookie trip. It ain't rocket surgery and you sound like you're very astute, so go enjoy your new camper!!
