Google maps says your trip is 2338 miles. As said before you need to decide what your goal is. If it's just to get to California and then back you can do it in three days drive each way IMHO. I once did 15 hours from Encinitas, CA to Albuquerque but I was on a mission to get somewhere. On the trip out to California we made three 3-4 day stops because we had things we wanted to do/see. If you are willing to drive 10 hours a day and just want to get there it can be done. If you want to stop along the way and see other things then 3 weeks won't be enough, again IMHO.
