- accsysExplorerIs the Good Sam card any better than what you would get a discount with AAA?
There are some places that only give you the 10% discount with a Good Sam card. In my experience most Good Sam campgrounds also give you 10% for veterans, AAA, Senior, and many more. The Good Sam card also gives you club pricing at Camping World now as well
I'm not old enough for Passport America, I'm ONLY 61...
You can get Passport America at any age but you need to go to their website and check to see if the campgrounds with the discounts have restrictions you can live with. We travel six months a year and never have a problem getting at least three times our membership fees back in discounts. Week-end warriors do not fare as well.
I believe you are referring to what used to be called the Golden Age pass (now called America the Beautiful Senior Pass) which gives you 50% off National Park, Forest, COE campsites as well as free admission to the National Parks. You have to be 62 to get that card.
Never heard of "Escapees"...Is there a link somewhere for more info
Escapees is a group for full-timers but anyone can join. - RbertalottoExplorerIs the Good Sam card any better than what you would get a discount with AAA?

Never heard of "Escapees"...Is there a link somewhere for more info? - Dutch_12078Explorer IIII get more than my money's worth from my Escapees, Passport America, Good Sam, and KOA memberships each year, and my National Parks Senior Pass paid for itself the first time I used it.
- mowermechExplorerI joined the KOA club last year, because the discount at the Chattanooga South KOA saved us more than the cost of joining.
I will probably allow it to lapse now, due to lack of use.
I get either a Veteran Discount or Senior Citizen discount at most RV parks.
I have the Golden Age Passport for Federal areas.
IMO, I don 't need to pay someone to get discounts that I probably will never use.
Before joining any organization, stop and think; "Will I be able to use this in the normal course of my camping style?" If the answer is not often or perhaps simply no, there would be no benefit in being a member.
Good luck. - I_am_still_waynExplorerWhen you are 62, buy a Senior Pass at most National Parks for 50% off on camping and some other fees as well as free admission to all National Parks.

there is also the Moose ( http . loom.net) and Elk that have limiited camping for low rates for thier members - TripalotExplorerWe find Passport America to be a good investment. Price approx. $44 for 15 months - half price camping at hundreds of c.g.'s. Use it a couple of nights and it has paid for itself. There are some restrictions but we find we can work around them.
- VeebyesExplorer IIDepends on what style of camper you are, a weekend warrior or a multi month long distance traveler.
