I shop insurance every year, compare rates with several companies.
Good Sam and Coachnet are the two companies who specialize in RV roadside coverage insurance. Never go with the basic level of roadside insurance, always go with the top level. It's really a cost decision. You will end up with the same tow truck company, the same arrival time no matter which company you choose, or if you take roadside coverage from a company like Progressive. Good Sam currently uses Allstate for their roadside coverage processor.
Coachnet does have some RV specific advantages in my opinion, specifically having RV maintenace specialists available to help you deal with a problem.
As stated above - a great many people don't have roadside coverage, a greater many do. It's a matter of personal choice.
Companies are in the insurnace business to make money. If they don't make more money on moste people's coverage, they don't stay in business.
My father always told me that all insurance is a bet you make against yourself that you hope to never win.
