Is it ok to put a cleaner or a breakdown solution in gray water tank?

After weeks of use, my gray water tank stinks and starts to build up crud. I add a heavy amount of bleach...a cup for 15 gallons. I allow the bleach to work for a few hours before draining. That solves the problem for a few more weeks.
