Actually, I'm sorry dj, when I reread my statement I see that it was a little rude, and I really didn't mean it that way, plus I didn't mean to make it sound as it was directed toward you. You were asking the question and it was a good one but those who responded all assumed that the dogs were brought in nefariously and I was pointing out that since the folks were not hiding their presence that it could possibly be that the campground itself told them where to park. Again I am sorry.
I REALLY appreciate that. Like I said, I have no problem with dogs and such in a campground, but I would hope people make the effort to be considerate regardless of whether it is pets, noise etc. Someone mentioned people walking through a campsite. That is one thing my wife and I actually enjoyed. We had fun watching the kids across the street coming over to collect pine cones. That lead to some nice conversations with the parents. I also found a couple walking around our camper. When I asked him if they needed anything, he was a bit embarassed and said they were just checking out our camper since he's been interested in the Camplites. We had them come inside and check it out and had a very nice time with them.
As far as Disney putting people in a non-pet loop, I would assume that does happen, especially if the pet loops are full. I was just hoping that either those people did not belong there, or they would just move me since the dog was so noisy and not controlled. That is why I asked the question regarding their policy about pets in a non-pet loop. And, as you suggested, it is very possible the people didn't say they had a dog, and Disney didn't ask, and people didn't realize there was an issue. But I knew there were empty spots in the pet loops, so I figured they had room.
Thanks again for the reply, and thanks to all the posters. I'm certainly not naive thinking everybody is perfect, but was hoping camping is not worse. Judging by the replies, it is not worse, and as one person siggested, Disney is a unique situation; especially when more crowded. We do plan on trying some of the state park campgrounds in Florida as well. I also realize that with alot of people bringing their campers to Florida from up north now, the campgrounds will be busier and noisier. In early September we plan on heading out to the Grand Canyon. We've been there twice before, but never with a camper; and we'll be staying at the Trailer Village. That should give us a different experience as well.
