Before you start packing (And I am not saying not to go) consider how you will travel, you mention a trailer but said nothing of what you have to tow with, nor what experience you have towing.
If you have a suitable vehicle but no experience, you may want to rent a trailer to test the waters. If you dont have a vehicle for towing already, you may want to consider renting a couple of different types of RV's.
Maybe a small class C or a truck and trailer, or a converted van. There are many ways to skin this critter, you need first to figure out which one fits you.
Dont take this as a negative, it's only a question of direction.
