In the past, Before 2009 this was prolly true. However todays yellow stickers on the trailer are required by law to tell the weight of the trailer as it sits on the lot in front of you. Meaning. IF there is an awing on it. It is included in the sticker weights. If there are empty propane tanks or anything else on it. they too are included in the sticker weights.
Dealers today add very little to the trailers when they come in. It is so much easier, and cheaper to have it done at the factory.
