I agree that a deposit is standard. A salesman sees a lot of ILLBEBACKS the never return. If time is money then the dealership has something invested in getting the rig ready for inspection, however they have no idea if you are BSing or really mean it. SOOOOO a deposit will help reassure them. A thousand no $500.00 yes. Personally I would now go through the coach very thoroughly. Ask the dealer about the tires then go check the dates yourself. Anything over 5 years old is suspicious, anything over 7 needs replacing NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE TREAD. Even if the rig is less than 5 years old do not assume the tires are.
