Dealer has to judge who the customer is if they want a sale.
Went through a similar deal with a soon to be our second new vehicle ever and now the last, haha.
Window shopping killing some time at the truck dealer while visiting family 400 mi from home.
Get the salesman pitch from about 3 different guys and finally send he 3 rd one on a wild goose chase to find the truck "I really wanted."
Sure as heck the guy comes back and says they have that truck in their rail lot. I go shoot them a low ball offer (it was the end of the year) and after a little dickering they accept. After they accept I tell me it will be cash and I'll head over to the bank and get a cashiers check. They want a $1k deposit, no problem, cut them a check for that and off we go.
Come back with the check and no truck yet. After waiting around for hours, left and said call me when you get the truck.
Get a call, go back after dinner to get the truck and they have one...... Not even the same elfin color!
It was too good of a deal to pass up, like could have drove it home and made $5k selling it used!
So we say fine we will take it. Pull out the check for the amount we had a signed agreement for and magically the price was 7k more!
Almost dropped the sales manager, got a little ugly. Wife was like go ahead, kick his arse! Brother I law along for the ride was thoroughly entertained and offered to go car shopping any time!
Cancelled our check to them on Mon since they couldn't find it magically.
So with your rv, go find another one that will not p!ss you off. There are a million of hem out there.
