Just outside the west gate, you'll find the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. A private operation, but worth the small admission fee. You can stand safely a few feet away from real Grizzlies and watch them tear open a "Bear Box" in just a few minutes. Their job is to test new designs. And they don't get points for neatness. I've seen one pick up a bear box and slam it down on a rock repeatedly until it opens up like we rip open a letter.
The fees go for relocating the bears far away or finding them a home in a zoo. That's their second choice.
By the way, these bears don't want to be in the area, but its where they live. Humans are the invaders.
