Keeping bears away in Yellowstone

Having witness bears in action many time in WY, CO and CA I can say I saw them open a VW bug hard top like a can using is paws as a can opener. He was after a ice chest he/she could see covered with a blanket.
With this said we camp in West Yellowstone in Montana side. I never, knock on wood, seen a bear over there.
I would not cook inside your trailer while camping there. Just to keep fresh food smells away from the trailer. Just my 2 cents.
