Kitchen slide tips out at the top with a right turn.

I got what Thor calls a slide lock with my ACE 27.1. I was told not really needed. But, after reading about the slide rails failing and slides becoming misaligned, I decided to use the slide lock. It looks like a mini "cargo bar" found in back of pickups to prevent things from sliding around. Since, I only have one, I am thinking about going to get at least one more possibly 2, since my slider is a full wall. I think it does work and prevents such things as you describe from happening.
