I can't speak to KM's Columbia Shores and Beachwood parks as I have yet to visit them. Of the rest of KM's parks, only the new handicap sites at Travel Inn in Elma, WA are concrete. The other sites at it and the remaining KM's parks I've been to are gravel with grass patios. The overflow area at Ocean Mist is grass. The KM park that I'm at is 4 miles off of WA-101. On a clear day I can see Discovery Bay from the park.
"cheesy clubhouses"? I'm not seeing that at KM, at all.
....
Since we have stayed at every K&M resort...
Beachwood is the gem, I believe the best one they own, it has one indoor pool, one outdoor pool, several hot tubs (in and out), an exercise building, etc, etc, etc.
Columbia Shores is referred to as "a fish camp", and it is. Don't go there unless you want to fish. Due to the high water table there is no laundry. Dumping is, well, interesting. Last time we were there the Cable/Internet provider had just gone under and neither were provided.
Ocean Breeze (their "newest" one) was bought from the previous owners just two years ago and been neglected (no maintenance) for years. Half the 350 "sites" where closed, the lake had been let go and now the state calls it a "natural" site and will not let K&M restore the dock and "return" the lake to "useful" (you can see the dock in old Google Earth over-heads). The original developers had died in a plane crash and their kids had put a memorial plate up, which someone stole. The park includes an early (1900s) graveyard, which is -supposed- to be maintained, the older owners didn't.
K&M is in the process of fixing the park back up.
